Where it all started...
Centerline Engineered Solutions proudly traces its heritage to Aldrich Machine Works. Aldrich Machine Works was founded by Alfred Proctor Aldrich in 1918 as a repair shop and later he expanded to include the production of ball bearings. The Aldrich sons, A. P. JR and Robert were both graduate engineers. They moved the business away from repair work and concentrated on the manufacture of ball bearing equipment for textile mills.
Aldrich Machine Works grew to be a leading supplier to the textile industry throughout the Southeast and thrived with the textile industry for many decades. In 2004, Aldrich Machine Works was merged with Swofford Engineering, another engineering and fabrication business based in Greenwood. From these two solid, engineering-focused companies lies the foundation for Centerline Engineered Solutions.
